Brunch is farm fresh eggs, scrambled, crisp bacon, buttermilk pancakes dusted with powdered sugar, thick French toast, a waffle with strawberries, and mushrooms folded in an omelet. Brunch is Sunday, late, and always more breakfast than lunch, a leisurely, chatty, three cups of coffee slowing of time. Brunch is orange juice, freshly squeezed—no exceptions—in a music-filled French bistro with aproned waiters, white cloth napkins, a saucer of jams and butter, and a tin of maple syrup. Brunch is sleepy, indulgent, the whole day ahead of you, and the time to say yes to chocolate chip pancakes.
